Step Back in Time with the Clarens Heritage Association

If you’ve ever strolled through Clarens and felt a sense of history in the air, you’re not alone. A group of passionate locals, just like you, felt the same pull. That’s why the Clarens Heritage Association was born—a voluntary community organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Clarens and its surroundings, not just for us, but for future generations to come.

The association’s mission is simple but essential: to foster, conserve, and promote every aspect of Clarens’ heritage, from historic buildings to shared stories, all to keep our town’s unique character alive. And they’re inviting you to join in!

Join the Heritage Tour

What better way to experience Clarens’ history than with a guided tour? The Heritage Association offers a special tour that not only dives into the fascinating stories of our town but also brings you up close and personal with some of its oldest buildings. You’ll learn about the origins of these iconic structures and the role they’ve played in shaping the town we all love.

The tour is led by none other than local architect Jacquie Le Roux, whose knowledge and passion for our town’s history bring every story to life. With Jacquie guiding you, you’ll explore the main square and walk through a curated route of Clarens’ oldest and most cherished buildings.

Take Home a Piece of Clarens

One of the highlights of the tour is a beautifully hand-drawn map, created by another talented local, Raquel Lewis. This isn’t your everyday map—it’s an artistic keepsake that landmarks each historic building you’ll visit. With Raquel’s delicate illustrations capturing the charm of each structure, this map is the perfect memento to remember your journey through Clarens’ past.

Why Join the Tour?

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a heritage advocate, or simply curious, the Heritage Tour offers something special. It’s a chance to connect with locals, learn about the people who built this town, and gain a deeper appreciation for what makes Clarens unique. And in joining, you’ll also be supporting the ongoing efforts to preserve this heritage for future generations.

So why not step back in time with us? Discover Clarens in a whole new way, meet locals who share a love for this town, and help keep our history alive for years to come. Sign up for the next tour at Bibliophile, Debra Stewart, and become a part of Clarens’ story!
